PURPOSE:
To heal our wounds in the support of masculine community. To
develop safety and emotional intimacy allowing us the power and freedom
to be our true selves. To remove ourselves from isolation.
Our group has been meeting weekly since 1991. There are currently
8 members, who have each been group members for at least 4 years.
The group is essentially a closed group, ie prospective members are
either interviewed if they are not known to any of the current members,
or invited as a guest of an existing member.
Group topics have included mythopoetic explorations, anger,
communication, and shame, in addition to various group activities geared
to enhancing our level of emotional intimacy.
We have also have annual camp outs, occasional sweat lodges, and we
further celebrate the summer and winter solstices, where spouses/spices
are also invited for a potluck meal and to participate in our group
process.
